Follow Your Bliss

Hi Friends:  Today I'm sharing a new layout of my Mom and Dad's wedding.    Although their wedding was over 50 years ago, I absolutely love this photo - my mom and dad look so happy.  To create the layout, I used something old (the papers and Prima flowers), something new (lace), something borrowed (the photo),  and something blue (papers, LSG sprays). As with all my mixed media projects - this was tons of fun to create.  Please see below for process, challenges, and supplies.  Have a great day & remember to follow your bliss!

Detail Photos:

Process:
I prepped my background paper with clear gesso, then used the blue Creative Medium and a heart stencil to add texture.  For more texture, I used my sewing machine and stitched around all the edges. I added the blue LSG sprays to add some teture and varation to the color of the background papers. To frame the photo, I used a Blue Fern chipboard frame with Versamark ink and white embossing powder.  I also embossed the 2 chipboard pieces and title with the same embossing powder.  I added the framed photo to the page, along with the chipboard pieces.  I glued the lace and added some pearl gems to the scallop centers.  I colored several of the flowers with the same LSG sprays and added the blue and white flowers around the photo.  I selected the word "magical" from the Chit Chat stickers and added it in the center of the chipboard  accent.  I added beads around the word, then added various heart and floral charms as shown.  I finished with some white gesso and blue splatters throughout.

CYP - Winter Hi

Hi Friends:  There is a new challenge today over at the Craft Your Passion Challenges blog, where the challenge is Always Anything Goes, and any handcrafted items are welcome.

Please visit our fabulous sponsor this week, Sasayaki Glitter, to see all of their wonderful products!

My creation for this week is a winter hello card using the digital stamp Winter Peggy.

I hope that you are inspired by my creation and will join us over at the CYP blog to see the creations of the other design team members and enter for your chance to win a great prize from our sponsor.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great CRAFTY day!

Process:
I printed the image onto smooth white cardstock and colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I added some glitter brush pen to the snow on the ground.  I cut my background papers to fit the A2 card base and image then sewed them with my sewing machine.  I added the baker's twine to the center panel and attached the papers to my card base.  For added dimension, I used foam squares to pop the focal panel off the page.  I cut the sentiment from the same papers and added it to the focal panel - I used a gem to dot the "i" because I somehow lost that little tiny paper dot.  LOL.  I used some Glossy Accents on the "U" in the background paper, then finished off with some star sequins.

Merry Happy Christmas

Hi Friends:  Today's post is a quick Christmas card using a Christmas Moose stamp from my stash. Since we saw snow flurries here on Saturday - it's definitely feeling more like Christmas these days! Have a super day and Happy Thanksgiving!

Process:
Stamp the image onto smooth white cardstock and color with Spectrum Noir markers and glitter brush pen.  Stamp the sentiments onto white cardstock, cut into tag shape, add eyelets to corner, then add dimension with Glossy Accents.  Add Glossy Accents to moose eyes and bows on packages.  Trim papers to fit the card base and stamped image panel.  Add 3 strips of baker's twine to the base panel, then attache to card base.  Use the ticket punch on the corners of the stamped panel and its layers, edge with chalk ink, the use fun foam to pop the panel up from the bottom layer.  Finish by adding the sentiment tags with a small piece of baker's twine.

Noel Tag

Hi Friends:  I liked the techniques from my recent Thanks tag so much that I created this Noel tag with the same process - pretty cool that the theme and colors create such a different effect even though I used the same basic process.  Please see below for photos, process, challenges, and supplies. Have a super day!

Detail to show the glimmer on the snowman:

Process:
I started with a plain manila tag and used the Remnant Rub Resist technique to create the background, using the Distress Stains listed below.  To add more texture, I stitched around the edges of the tag with my sewing machine.  I stamped the snowman onto watercolor paper with Archival Jet Black ink, cut it with the die, then colored it using the Dimensional Coloring technique and the Distress Inks listed.  I mounted it to the tag with fun foam, then added some Glossy Accents to the eyes, mouth, and hat band.  I used some red gems for the berries on his hat, and added some glitter pen to the entire snowman to get that shimmery look of the show.  The full photo captures the colors well, but washes out the glimmer on the snowman because of the shine of the silver remnant rub - the detail photo kind of shows the sparkle of the snowman, but it's really much prettier in person.  I die-cut the word "Noel" from cork paper, then layered it over some re-purposed corrugated paper that was died with Distress Stain - then added some silver star brads to the sides of the word.  I also died some Linen Ribbon with the Distress Stains, used a bit of blue/purple fibers from my stash, and tied them to the top of the tag.  I finished off with a Muse Token and a mini gear.

Genuine Thanks Tag

Hi Friends:  Today's post is a Thanks tag to celebrate the Thanksgiving Season.  This was lots of fun to make.  Please see below for photos, process, challenges, and supplies.  Have a super day!

Process:
I started with a plain manila tag and used the Remnant Rub Resist technique to create the background, using the Distress Stains listed below.  To add more texture, I stitched around the edges of the tag with my sewing machine.  I stamped the leaf onto watercolor paper with Archival Jet Black ink, cut it with the matching die, then colored it using the Dimensional Coloring technique and the Distress Inks listed.  I mounted it to the tag with fun foam, then added some crazing medium and a thin layer of crackle paint to add more texture and make the leaf look a bit more aged.  I die-cut the word "Thanks" from cork paper, then layered it over some repurposed corrugated paper that was died with Distress Stain.  I also died some Linen Ribbon with the Distress Stains, used a bit of brown wired mesh from my stash, and tied them to the top of the tag.  I finished off with a Muse Token and a Trinket Pin.

CYP - Water Fairy Card

Hi Friends:  There is a new challenge today over at the Craft Your Passion Challenges blog, where the challenge is Always Anything Goes, and any handcrafted items are welcome.

Please visit our fabulous sponsor this week, FabrikaFantasy, to see all of their wonderful products!

My creation for this week is a card using the fabulous Water Fairy digital stamp.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great CRAFTY day!

Process:
I printed the image onto white cardstock and colored her with my Colour Blend pencils, blended with gamsol.  I added some glitter brush pen to her wings, necklace, and dress.  I distressed the edges of the paper and sewed the edges of the center and corner panels, then glued the background papers to my card base.  I fussy cut the fairy and glued her to smaller panel and added it to the card using fun foam.  I stamped the sentiment onto another paper from the paper pack using Memento Tuxedo Black ink - the stamp is a single stamp, so I masked the upper and lower portions so that I could make 2 separate panels.  I finished with some gems on her necklace and the corners of the card.

CWWC - Muse Card

Hi Friends:  There is a new challenge today over at the Crafting When We Can Challenges Blog, where the current theme is Circles.  I simply used circles in my background papers, but you can interpret the challenge how you like, as long as you use Circles.

Please visit our fabulous sponsor this week, DevilCaitDesigns, to see all of her wonderful products!

My creation for this week is a card using the lovely digital stamp called Angie.  She is very easy to color and add to any of your creations.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great CRAFTY day!

Process:
I printed the image onto smooth white cardstock and colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I cut the A2 base panel, sewed along the edges, sewed on the lace that was colored with LSG sprays, then glued the panel to my card base.  I used a small circle punch to cut some of the circles from the leftover paper and added them to the panel with pop dots.  I cut a doily die from another paper from the paper pack, sprayed with the Sterling spray, then added to the card center.  I fussy cut the focal image and used fun foam to pop her off the center of the doily.  I added some pearls for a necklace and earrings, then used the glitter brush pen on her lips and the circle punched shapes.  For more shine/texture, I covered the circle shapes with some glossy accents and fine glitter, and added some clear gems to other circles on the background panel.  I finished off with the Muse word stick.
